My name is Rosario and I’m the owner of El Borrego Restaurant in City Heights. Fifteen years ago I was looking for good lamb barbecue tacos in San Diego but I couldn’t find it, so I started serving lamb barbecue on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 2 pm in a kitchen’s convenience store. With my son and daughter, set a tent in the driveway with 3 folding tables and chairs for about 15-20 people.Three months later we were buying 500-600 pounds of lamb just Saturday’s and Sunday’s. That’s when we decide to open El Borrego Restaurant 12 years ago. I design a menu that includes lamb barbacoa by weight, by taco, roll tacos and lamb broth; squash blossom, corn truffle quesadillas, rice , beans and authentic salsas. Thru the years we have been adding items to the menu like pozole, sopes, enchiladas, mole and burritos..the rest is history.
